A Lop Sided Gospel
Romans 11:22 says, "Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."
Most modern day ministries with their big mega churches only focus on the goodness of God, they never preach on the severity of God, they don't preach against sin, they won't preach on repentance, they never mention hell, and they never talk about the fear of God. All they talk about is God's love, and what He is going to do for you. Now I understand that no one likes to hear gloom and doom, but preachers need to preach gloom and doom when necessary, and the closer we get to the return of the Lord, it becomes more and more necessary, gloom and doom is coming whether we like it or not.
Any ministry that only focuses on the goodness of God and never on severity, and vice versa, is NOT representing the real God of the bible, and it is NOT a christian ministry. If a preacher is going to be true to the word of God, he must preach BOTH sides of the message. It can't be all goodness or all severity, the preacher must be well balanced, otherwise, he is preaching a lop sided gospel. Sad to say, most, not all, but most big time ministries have lop sided preachers who preach lop sided messages. I realize that people don't want to hear anything negative, well, much of the bible contains negative stuff, God's wrath, hell and the fear of God are negative, but they are in the bible, and need to be addressed from time to time.
To any one reading this, is your preacher at your church a well balanced preacher, or does he preach a lop sided gospel? Do you follow a lop sided tv minister? A lop sided gospel is another gospel, and not the gospel of the real Jesus Christ of the bible. If you follow one of these lop sided tv ministers, or if you go to a church that has a lop sided minister, I strongly suggest you turn that tv minister off, and find a church that has a well balanced minister.
