Hell
Every person who leaves this life without knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour, go to a place the bible calls "hell". Hell is not a fictional place like some people want to believe, and it is not a state of mind either. Hell is a place where the souls of the unsaved dead go immediately upon dying. Hell is a place in some other realm of God's creation, I believe it is deep within the earth, miles and miles down, and I believe the bible teaches that. In reference to hell, the bible talks about descending into it, and "descend" means to "go down". Isaiah 5:14 says, "Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall DESCEND into it." I believe when an unsaved sinner dies, he or she descend into the deep parts of the earth where there happens to be fire there, and I believe that that is hell. Proverbs 15:24 says, "The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell BENEATH". I believe hell is miles and miles down beneath our feet.
Amos 9:2 says, "Though they DIG into hell.........." Ephesians 4:9 says, "Now that he {Jesus} ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the LOWER PARTS OF THE EARTH?" I believe that hell is deep in the lower parts of the earth. Now Jesus did not go to hell to suffer as some preachers teach, but He did go to Abraham's bosom which was in the lower parts of the earth, and if you are familiar with the story of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke chapter 16, the rich man was in hell and Lazarus was in Abraham's bosom, now Abraham's bosom was not heaven, it was a place of rest, a place of comfort where all the Old Testament saints went at death until the Messiah {Jesus} came to earth and died on the cross, and through His shed blood, they all got to go to heaven, but before then, they went to the lower parts of the earth to Abraham's bosom, and on the other side of Abraham's bosom seperated by a great gulf fix was hell, so hell was and still is deep in the earth.
Most people don't believe in hell, even people who claim to be christians don't believe in it, or don't believe in the severity of it. Jesus gave us an idea of how severe hell is, just read what He said in Matt. 5:29,30, and Mark 9:42-48, and you will have an idea of how severe, how horrible hell is. A person cannot possibly believe in Jesus and not believe in hell, because Jesus taught it, and as I understand, He made many references to it. Jesus used the words hell in Matt. 5:22,29,30, Matt.10:28, Matt. 11:23, Matt. 18:9, Matt.23:15,33, Mark 9:43,45,47, Luke 16:23, Rev.1:18, He used the words "everlasting fire" in Matt.18:8, Matt.25:41 "furnace of fire" in Matt.13:42,50, "everlasting punishment" in Matt.25:46, "eternal damnation" in Mark 3:29, "perish" in Luke 13:3,5. There are many other references to hell too in the New Testament, and also in the Old Testament. Many cults such as The Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Mormons try to say that hell is just the grave, or that the fire in hell is not literal fire etc. The bible makes it quite plain that hell is not the grave, but a place of torment, and if you don't believe that, then you don't believe in Jesus, or you are calling Him a liar, and that is dangerous, because He said there is a hell.
If hell was not real, or if it was just the grave, then why would Jesus go through what He did? He suffered horribly and died because hell is real and so terrible, and no nightmare can match the horrors of hell. It is so horrible, that you wouldn't want it for your worst enemy. There is fire in hell, there is torment in hell, there is sorrow and regret in hell, but the worst thing about hell is the fact that it is forever. Once a person goes to hell, he or she will NEVER,EVER get out. Any professing christian who is reading this who wonders if there really is a hell or not, let me ask you this, do you believe in Jesus or don't you? If you don't believe in hell, you do not believe in Jesus. How can you call Jesus your Saviour, yet call Him a liar. Multitudes upon multitudes of people are in hell right this very moment, roasting, and toasting, and begging and screaming, make sure you do not end up going there too. If you are reading this and are not saved, but would like to be saved, all you have to do is admit to God that you are a sinner, and sincerely ask Him to forgive you and save you, and I gurantee you, He will. It is as simple as 1 2 3. You don't have to make a big speach, just admit to Him that you are a sinner, and in your own words, ask Him to forgive you and save you, that's it. After you get saved, try to find a bible believing church, and read your bible everyday, I suggest the KIng James Bible.
