Who Crucified Jesus Christ?

If you were to ask most people who crucified our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they would say that the Jews did, or the Roman soldiers who actually whipped Him and pierced him, or the religious crowd who called for His crucifixion, but the truth is, it was God the Father who crucified Jesus, because it was God the Father who laid down the death sentence, for He said, ".....the soul that sinneth, it shall die." {Ezekiel 18:4} Sin has to be paid for and it says in Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death......"   Since we all have sinned and since sin has to be paid for by death, and since God laid down the death sentence, and since He sent His Son to Earth to pay for the sins of mankind, it was God the Father that crucified God the Son in actuality. He may have used man's hand to do it, but it was God the Father who called for it.

In the Old Testament book of Isaiah in chapter 53, verse 5 talks about our Saviour being "wounded for our transgressions", and it says that He was "bruised for our iniquities". Toward the end of verse 6, it says, "and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."  Now, in verse 6, who is "Lord" here?   it is God the Father, and who is "him"?  it is God the Son, so verse 6 is saying that God the Father laid on God the Son {Jesus} the "iniquity of us all."  Verse 10 says,  "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him....."    Who is "Lord" in verse 10?  it is God the Father, and who is "him" ? it is God the Son {Jesus}, so verse 10 is basically saying that it pleased God the Father to bruise God the Son. Verse 11 says  "He {God the Father} shall see of the travail of his {Jesus} soul, and shall be satisfied......"  Sin was paid for on the cross, and God the Father was satisfied that the sin bill had been paid.

Even though it was our sin that put Jesus on the cross, and even though it was man that actually beat and nailed Jesus to the cross, it was God the Father that orchestrated it, after all, as I said earlier, it was God the Father who  laid down the death sentence.

God Bless,

Christopher
