Suffering For Jesus
There are some professing christians in America who think that christians aren't supposed to suffer. Well, we as christians don't have to suffer for our sins, because the Lord Jesus Christ suffered for our sins on the Cross, BUT, we as born again followers of the Lord Jesus Christ will suffer for the cause of Christ, and christians through out the years, especially in different parts of the world have suffered for Christ's sake. Here are some verses that plainly say that christians do suffer and that it is given to us as christians to suffer.
2 Tim.3:12- "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
2 Tim.2:12- "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him...."
1 Peter 4:1- "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin."
" 1 Peter 4:16- "Yet if any man suffer as a christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."
Gal.6:12- "............only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ."
Psalm 34:19- "Many are the afflictions of the righteous......"
If you are a true born again follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, expect to suffer in some way, shape ,or form.
