Speaking In Tongues

The "speaking in tongues" in pentecostal-charismatic churches is not the "speaking in tongues" in the bible. Tongue speaking is not some heavenly language that only God understands, but an earthly language. In the book of Acts in chapter 2 at the day of Pentecost, verse 4 says,  "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues,as the Spirit gave them utterance."     Now the tongues that they were speaking  were earthly languages, because it says in verse 5,  "And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of EVERY NATION."  Whoever is reading this message, read very carefully Acts chapter 2 starting with verse 4 and read on down to verse 11, and you will see that people from different nations were there to hear the gospel, and that the tongues that were spoken was not a heavenly language, but earthly languages, for it says in verse 6,  ".......every man heard them speak in his OWN LANGUAGE."  It was not some heavenly language.

Now the "speaking in tongues" in Acts chapter 2 is the same "speaking in tongues" in 1 Cor. chapter 14, earthly languages. The apostle Paul said in verse 10 of 1 Cor.14,  "There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices IN THE WORLD, and none of them is without signification." Notice, Paul said "in the world", not from heaven. This unintellegent babbling that you hear in some churches are not of God. To further prove what I am saying, Paul said,  "In the law it is written, With men of OTHER TONGUES and other lips will I speak unto this people." {verse 21} When Paul said "other tongues", he meant other languages of the earth.

When you go to some church and you hear people speaking in tongues, you can know if it's of God or not just by studying what it says in 1 Cor. chapter 14, because there are violations in speaking in tongues  in most churches that speak in tongues.  If you go to a church and if you were to ask every one there if they believe the gospel, and they all do but yet are speaking in tongues, that is a violation, because it says in verse 22, "Wherefore tongues are for a sign, NOT TO THEM THAT BELIEVE, but to them that BELIEVE NOT."   If more than 3 are speaking in tongues, there is another violation, because it says in verse 27, "If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by TWO, or at the MOST BY THREE."   By the way, the "unknown tongue" in that verse is refering to some language on earth that some people might not understand, not a heavenly language.  If there  are at least 3 speaking in tongues only, but there is no interpreter, there is another violation, because it says also in verse 27, "let one interpret", and it says in verse 28, "But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; let him speak to himself, and to God."    If women are speaking in tongues, there is another violation, because it says, "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak....." {verse 34}  and the end of verse 35 says, "for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."

I believe in most churches that speak in tongues, they are doing at least one if not all four violations, and that is how you can know it is not of God, and besides that, the man who has to be an interpreter, would have to be able to know the heavenly language in order to be able to interpret it, and in most of these churches, all you hear is some unintelligent babbling that no one can interpret which they believe is of God. If anybody reading this believes in the "speaking in tongues" in the pentecostal-charismatic churches or some other churches, I strongly suggest you carefully read and study Acts chapter 2 and 1 Cor. chapter 14.

God Bless,

Christopher
