Is Physical Healing a Part of the Atonement?

Some bible teachers and preachers teach that physical healing is a part of the atonement, they misinterpret what it says in Isaiah 53 5,  "......with his stripes we are healed",  and   "were healed"  as it says in 1 Peter 2:24. Those two pieces of scripture are not talking about physical healing, it is talking about spiritual healing, being connected to God. Every person born into this world is born spiritually dead toward God, and when a person gets born again by faith in Jesus Christ, they become spiritually alive toward God,{healed}  Don't get me wrong, God can and still does heal people physically, for He is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.{Hebrews 13:8} BUT, it is not part of the atonement, if it was, then the day a person got saved, he or she would get new bodys, every saved person who was ever in a wheel chair or used crutches would no longer need it, every blind person who ever got saved would no longer be blind, there would be no need for eye glasses, a saved person who ever had cancer or heart disease would no longer have it, and the list could go on, but you know what?   "Many are the afflictions of the righteous..." {Psalm 34:19}

We will get new bodys at the "last trump" as it says in 1 Corinthians 15:52, that's in the future.The apostle Paul had a bad eye problem, and Timothy got sick often, because Paul told Timothy, "...use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." {1 Tim.5:23}  Some pentecostal preachers teach that physical healing is a part of the atonement, and they say that the reason why someone didn't get healed from some physical impairment is because they didn't have enough faith, well, Paul and Timothy had plenty of faith. It is funny because some Pentecostal preachers who preach that physical healing is a part of the atonement, wear eye glasses, I guess they didn't have enough faith, otherwise they would no longer need them, but as I said, it is not physical healing that is meant in Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24, but it is spiritual healing, and I know some christians who are blind and use a cane and have cancer and I know some who have passed away from some illness, they were healed spiritually as those two verses imply but they weren't physically healed. Physical healing is not a part of the atonement.

God Bless,

Christopher
