Who Is The Restrainer Of 2 Thess. Chapter 2?
Many Professing christians believe and many well meaning peachers teach that the restrainer who gets taken out of the way in 2Thess. chapter 2 is the Holy Spirit, and since the Church is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, then when the Holy Spirit is taken out of the way, the Church will be too, but there is no evidence in 2 Thess. 2 of that, and nowhere does it say that the Church goes to heaven for 7 years. I believe that the restrainer who is keeping the devil from taking over completely and who will be the one whom the Lord will take out of the way will be Michael the archangel. First of all, the "he" that gets taken out of the way in verse 7 of 2 Thess. 2 can't be the Church, because the Church is the bride of Christ, and the bride is not a "he", and if the Holy Spirit was taken out of the way, then there would be no one getting saved at the time of the tribulation, because no one gets saved without having the Holy Spirit.
Michael was the one that fought Lucifer in the begining and kicked him out of heaven, and in the book of Jude in verse 9, Michael was contending with the devil, and in Rev. chapter 12 verses 7-10, it speaks of a battle in heaven between Michael and his angels fighting with the devil and his angels. In the Old Testament book of Daniel, Daniel speaks of a time that will come upon this earth, and it says in Dan. 10:21, "But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince." Daniel said in chapter 12 verse 1, "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be written in the book."
I fully believe that Michael is the restrainer and at God's time, He will tell Michael to step back. If it wasn't for Michael, Satan would have taken over completely by now I believe, but it is Michael that is standing in Satan's way right now until God takes him out of the way. If anybody reading this can show me elsewhere in the bible that says the Church or Holy Spirit is the restrainer, please contact me. Thankyou.
